Historical themed resort
homes now under construction
in Forest Crowne.
Miner’s legacy

Inspired by the tradition of civic pride, hard work and a ‘good neighbour’ attitude that built Kimberley, the first phase of the new resort acreage community of Forest Crowne has been themed around the legacy of the working family and named Miners’ Alley.

Construction is now under way on a fully furnished model home and presentation centre and a number of additional homes are being built for summer occupancies based on the model home and its many optional layouts.

Heritage designed resort homes with steep, metal-clad roof pitches, long covered porches, decorative window boxes, multi-paned windows and old fashioned batton board details, these one and two storey residences each with a double garage, bring back the memories of days gone by. A variety of exterior elevations and colours are offered.

Inside, vaulted two storey spaces are featured in the great room and kitchen. One or two bedroom main floor plans are standard. On the upper floor, you can choose from an optional loft, one or two bedroom layout with cosy dormer spaces and bright oval gable windows.

Forced air heating supports an old-time decorative cast metal wood stove; options include gas and full wood burning fireplace. Interior finishes include pine cabinetry with pounded black metal hardware, soaker tub and large 6' x 6' picture windows and patio doors.

In a recent agreement between Forest Crowne developer partners, United Inc. and Cominco, the balance of the entire first phase lots in Forest Crowne has been sold to Calgary-based Forté Builders. Treed building sites and modest resort home designs will range from $160,000 to $230,000 depending on lot choice, plan features and fixtures.

Miners’ Alley is the first phase to be comprehensively planned and developed in Forest Crowne, a 1,600 acre community in south Kimberley that borders the Kimberley Golf Course, Kimberley Nature Park, Mark Creek and the long-established Kimberley town site. With full city services including power, gas, telephone, cable television, waste water services, paved streets and lighting.

These 1/3 acre lots provide owners with convenience, yet the feeling of a recreation location. Home sites have been cut out of the forestation so most homes will be nestled in treed locations affording greater privacy and quiet.
