a good impression will sell your home faster |
“You never get a second chance to make that first good impression.”
So state many experienced real estate sales leaders. Here is a checklist
of things to be aware to give your home more “curb-appeal.”
• Give the front of your home special care. Polish the brass,
place some pots of flowers at the front door, clear and clean the
front walk.
• The entryway is also important. Some buyers decide if a house
is for them with the first 30 to 40 seconds of opening the front door.
• Store things away under the bed, pack away your winter wardrobe.
Make sure that access to the furnace and light panel is clear and
easy to get to.
• Clean out the closets. Potential buyers love to open every
door and cupboard.
• Get rid of clutter. Flowers give a nice, fresh feeling.
• House sellers should paint, paint, paint; nothing brightens
a home more easily and inexpensively than a coat of fresh paint.
• Kitchen counters should cleared of everything except the coffee
maker and few canisters.
• Make sure the taps are sparkling and not dripping, the grout
is clean and the bathmat is fresh.
• Oil anything that squeaks or open with difficulty: including
hinges, sliding doors or cupboard doors.
• Have your window professionally cleaned, it will brighten up
the house.
• If you have a fireplace, nothing says welcome more than a crackling
fire.
• Start your breadmaker before showing and your home will be
filled with delicious aromas. Put bowls of potpourri in bathrooms
and bedrooms.
Simple touches that will enhance the value of your home, that could
help you sell your home faster and make the experience more pleasant
for everyone.
